During the time I worked for local publications like the Blue Ridge Business Journal, I had the opportunity meet many local businesspeople and photograph them for use in news articles and advertisements. I always enjoyed the days my editor would call me up and ask me to go out and do a spur of the moment photo shoot. I love meeting new people, and the field of photography definitely provides that opportunity. Below are just a few of the photos I took of local businessmen and women.

YMCA Fall Soccer
My son played on his very first team this fall and that provided me with the opportunity to mesh two things that I love ... taking photos and watching children have fun. It had been a while since I had photographed sporting events. The last time my camera saw a sports field was when I worked as the Editor of the Nelson County Times. During my time at the newspaper, I really enjoyed going out on assignments to capture photos of the local high school teams in action. Below are pictures of my son and his YMCA soccer team, Galaxy.

Christmas Snow
I love a good snowstorm. And since we don't have them often in Virginia, I grabbed my camera as soon as the snow started the week before Christmas and got to shooting.
Zuwerink Maternity Photos
Here are some of my favorite photos from one of my recent maternity photo shoots. I spent an hour with this family at their home in Farmville capturing memories of the three of them before they added a fourth member to the family.

Welcome!
Welcome to my photography blog. After working and playing in the photography field for more than 12 years, I have decided to go out on my own to start my own photography business. I'm available to photograph children, babies, families, sporting events, and special occassions like birthdays or engagements. Here are just a few of my favorite photos to get started. Come back soon to learn more about me, and view the rest of my portfolio.
