My son, Reagan, and I enjoy this beautiful Spring weather with walks around our neighborhood in Lake Vista. Sometimes Reagan opts to ride his scooter, his bike or just run the street. We really enjoy this area of Forest because there are always people out walking, biking or jogging. Here are just a few photos I took on our walk. Reagan was gracious enough to pose for a few minutes for some of the shots, others I just snapped and caught him off guard.
I took and adventure along Blackwater Creek Trail with some friends a few days ago. We had so much fun fishing and wandering the trail. The boys, Reagan and my friend's brother and friend, goofed off finding off-beaten paths to travel. I especially love the picture of all three boys in the crazy looking tree they found near the beginning of the trail. Below are just a few of the photographs I took while on our journey.
We had a beautiful sunny day for the Hughes family photo shoot April 10th. It was a pleasure to take photographs of this beautiful family on the campus of Liberty University. Mary and her husband, Tex, have two adorable kids, Sydney and Landry. I was excited to see how some of the shots turned out. Thanks to this wonderful family for allowing me to take photographs of them.
I absolutely love this time of the year. The weather is warming and flowers are blooming. The pretty colors always captivate me. I just had to take some photographs of the flowering trees in my yard and the beautiful bouquets friends gave me for my Spring birthday. This Spring I'm offering a Spring Photo Special. You won't want to miss it ... contact me for details.
During the time I worked for local publications like the Blue Ridge Business Journal, I had the opportunity meet many local businesspeople and photograph them for use in news articles and advertisements. I always enjoyed the days my editor would call me up and ask me to go out and do a spur of the moment photo shoot. I love meeting new people, and the field of photography definitely provides that opportunity. Below are just a few of the photos I took of local businessmen and women.
My son played on his very first team this fall and that provided me with the opportunity to mesh two things that I love ... taking photos and watching children have fun. It had been a while since I had photographed sporting events. The last time my camera saw a sports field was when I worked as the Editor of the Nelson County Times. During my time at the newspaper, I really enjoyed going out on assignments to capture photos of the local high school teams in action. Below are pictures of my son and his YMCA soccer team, Galaxy.
I love a good snowstorm. And since we don't have them often in Virginia, I grabbed my camera as soon as the snow started the week before Christmas and got to shooting.
After picking up a photography class on a whim in college, I fell in love with the art. I have worked as a photojournalist for area newspapers and magazines for the past 12 years on a full time and freelance basis. I most enjoy capturing the joy and spirit of young children in my pictures. I am experienced in photographing families, special occasions, weddings, sporting events, local landmarks and businesspeople, and landscapes. Contact me for more information on my fees.
