2011 First Snow Forest, Va.

Well it's Jan. 8th and we've had our first snow of 2010 in the Lynchburg, Va. area. This snow was so fluffy and beautiful. The dusting on the tree limbs and along the road made my neighborhood look like a winter wonderland. While I prefer to see snow from inside my warm house, I trekked out into my backyard for a little while this morning to snap some photos. Hope you enjoy!

Christmas 2010 Portraits - Lynchburg, Va.

This past Christmas season I had the pleasure of taking the photos for a few clients' Christmas cards. One photo shoot was completed at the client's home and was such fun to do. The boys dressed in their PJ's and sat by the Christmas tree. I was able to get lots of shots of them with their presents, reading to one another, and of the entire family by the fire place. Another Christmas photo shoot was held at the Snowflex Ski Lodge on Candlers Mountain in Lynchburg. The ski lodge was a dream to shoot in and was already decorated with trees, stockings, and Christmas decor. Here are some of my favorite photos from each of these different photo shoots. Enjoy!

Jason and Shanetta Engagement Photos - Downtown Lynchburg, Va.

I met with Jason and Shanetta over the weekend in Downtown Lynchburg to take their engagement photos. Jason popped the question to Shanetta in October and the couple plans to wed in June 2011. I am thrilled to be the photographer they chose to capture all of the wonderful memories leading up to the big day. We spent three hours wandering the streets of Downtown Lynchburg Saturday afternoon. We were lucky to have such a beautifully warm day considering it was mid-November. This couple is just amazing. They are obviously in love, and it shines through in their personalities and photographs that were captured that day. Here is a little sneak peek of the photos taken during the E-session that day. Enjoy!

Emmie - 6 Months Old

While meeting with my client to present her with the CD of her family photos, I took a few moments to photograph her daughter who recently turned 6 months old. The photo shoot took place in the client's home and took about 20 minutes. It was quick and painless for mom and baby, but resulted in these fabulous photos. Enjoy!

I met with the Scecina family at the end of October to take fall photos. We had a beautiful day at Riverside Park and I enjoyed wandering the park with them snapping photos along the way. Here are some of my favorite shots:

Reagan Fall Photos - Downtown Lynchburg, Liberty University

Last week I tricked Reagan into posing for some photos by disguising the photo shoot as an "outdoor adventure." First we ventured downtown and found secret passage ways, waterfalls, trains and cool abandoned buildings. All the while along our adventure I snapped away catching Reagan at times when he wasn't expecting it. Day 2 after picking Reagan up from school at LCA, we took another adventure to the new tennis courts on campus. Reagan searched for left behind tennis balls, while I watched through the camera lens. We also got to see a few trains pass by behind us. And although, we didn't find any lost tennis balls, I did find a few great shots of my favorite little boy. Here are some of my favorite photos from our adventure. Enjoy!

Allie Fall Photos - Downtown Lynchburg, Va. and Old City Cemetery

A couple weeks ago I was contacted by a friend and previous client to take her daughter's fall photos. As someone whose work is completely subjective, it is always refreshing when a client enjoys your work so much they come back to you for more. I had so much fun photographing Allie for her summer photos that I jumped at the chance to photograph her again. At a little over age 1, Allie kept me on my toes, chasing her and varying my angles to get the best photos I could. Although working with young children can be challenging, I absolutely love it. Children allow me to utilize my style of photography to its fullest extent. I actually prefer to catch the action, and adore candid photography. I find if you let a young child just do his or her thing, some of the best expressions and memories are captured. On this fall photo shoot, Allie had several wardrobe changes and we changed venues twice. She even donned her Halloween costume for a bit. Here is a little sampling of some of my favorite photos from the day. Enjoy!
